Coaching Pathway
Just as for players and umpires, there is a "Pathway to the Top" for coaches, whether that be as a JuniorNet coach or a National coach.
Coaching Opportunities with Boroondara Netball Association:
Junior Coaching:
- JuniorNet - Grade 2 and Grade 3 skills coaching
- Club junior teams
- Primary school teams
- 13/U & 15/U Boroondara Power representative team coaching
JuniorNet is a great way to be introduced to the world of coaching. It is a progressive skill development program for children in Years 2 - 4. The environment is non competitive and fun where coaches can develop a genuine rapport with the children, developing confidence in themselves as coaches and also learning basic netball skills - something many older players have never been taught! The program has been devised by experts from Netball Australia and Netball Victoria and each session is clearly set out for the coaches. All coaches must complete the on-line Foundation Coaching course and the on-line Umpire Theory exam. They will attend a pre-season meeting where junior coaching principles and key teaching points are explained and demonstrated. Each coach is provided with the session material and all equipment is provided by the Association.
Senior Coaching:
- Club senior teams
- 17/U & Open Boroondara Power representative teams
- Boroondara Victorian Netball League teams
- TID Academy squads
- Victorian state teams
- National Netball League - Vixens & Fury
- National teams.
