The Boroondara Netball Association believes that all involved in netball have the right to be treated with respect, dignity and fairness. These values along with the basic right of all netball members to participate in an environment that is enjoyable, safe and healthy, has resulted in the development of the Netball Australia Member Protection Regulation and the Netball Victoria Competition Regulation. The Boroondara Netball Association will not tolerate any form of inappropriate behaviour - such as harassment, discrimination, vilification or abuse - and takes all reports seriously.
The purpose of the Competition Regulation is to deal with competition related offences and disputes which may arise in the conduct of netball programs, competitions and events throughout Victoria. It sets out the procedures to be followed in dealing with competition related offences and disputes in an effective, appropriate and timely manner.
The Boroondara Netball Association in line with Netball Victoria and Netball Australia is committed to treating all people with respect, dignity and fairness. These values, along with the basic right of all netball members to participate in an environment that is enjoyable, safe and healthy, has resulted in Netball Australia developing specific objectives to create a safer and more tolerant sporting environment.
Netball is not immune to acts of discrimination, harassment and abuse and in fact shares the common features of most sporting environments where close physical and emotional relationships can develop and inappropriate or unlawful behavior can take place.
The adoption of the Netball Australia Member Protection Policy reflects our commitment to serving and protecting our members and participants throughout all levels of the sport. Through working together, the netball community can prevent discrimination and harassment and create a safe and supportive environment for all participants at all levels.
